The trail featured some beautiful views of the Falls and the Potomac, and the great rock formations that have built up in the river. Many people use the area for rock-climbing, kayaking, or raft trips. We just walked. We're walkers. It's how we roll.

We visited on July 3rd and hiked the River Trail. This is one of the first views of the Falls that you get after walking into the park.

10:29PM - The Heat Is On

July 16's heat and humidity defeated us, finally - we've turned on the air conditioning for the first time this summer. Granted, it's been a somewhat mild summer so far, but I still think that going more than halfway through July before cranking it up for the first time is pretty impressive. We were doing really good with open windows and good fans for a while there (and with a happy electric bill), but when it's still in the mid 80s and stifling at sleepytime, it's no good.

Hiking through Great Falls, Annapolis on the Fourth of July, work work work, roadtrip to Michigan's Leelanau Peninsula, hiking at Sleeping Bear Dunes, wine and cider tasting and buying, good food, really really long roadtrip back. Now, bed, and back to work tomorrow.
